The pilot run of vaccination for college students in preparation for the holding of limited face-to-face classes has started in La Union.
The Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Department of Health’s Center for Health Development in Ilocos, Department of the Interior and Local Government, provincial government of La Union and and Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) led the four-day vaccination rollout, which started on Wednesday.
“With the arrival and administration of COVID-19 vaccines to our students, the hope of going back to school is much more alive. We look forward to... expanding the implementation of limited face-to-face classes in all academic programs,” CHED-Ilocos regional director Rogelio Galera Jr. said.
DMMMSU president Jaime Manuel Jr. urged parents to allow their children to be vaccinated, saying it is “the biggest step toward achieving higher learning.”
At least 440 students were vaccinated on the first day.
