 44 Kalinga druggies finish rehab program

PINUKPUK, Kalinga – A total of 44 drug suspects who voluntarily surrendered to authorities, completed community-based rehabilitation and treatment program in simple ceremony here at Barangay Ammacian Hall on Oct. 8. The event was witnessed by Kalinga deputy provincial police director for administration Lt. Col. Jomaric B. Felina, Mayor Irving B. Dasayon and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency provincial officer Rhodelia I. Macad.
    Officials involved in the program from Social and Welfare Development, Health departments and barangays attended the occasion.
    Pinukpuk police said the 44 drug surrenderees came from barangays Aciga, Ammacian, Taggay, and Wagud. 
Certificates of completion were awarded to surrenderees who participated in the 6-month programs.
    In his message, Felina congratulated surrenderees, officials of agencies and stakeholders who made the program possible.
    The program, dubbed “Rapha recovery and wellness program,” was initiated by Pinukpuk police in collaboration with local government, agencies and religious sectors. 
    “Rapha” is a Hebrew term which means “God is the Healer.”


4 druggies nabbed in buy- bust operations in Baguio

BAGUIO CITY -- Four drug suspects were arrested in buy-bust operations by police and anti-narcotics agents here Oct. 29-30.
    Suspects were identified as Francis Fred Gustarde, 31; Edmon Mosa Genese, 22; Carl Resurrection a.k.a "Dino", 21 and Angelo Valdez Simon, 19.
    Authorities nabbed Gustarde and Genese along Tacay Road, Guisad here
for allegedly selling 0.3 grams of suspected shabu worth P2,040 to a cop.
    Authorities confiscated additional suspected shabu weighing a gram worth P6,800 and two cell phones owned by the  suspects. 
    In Lower Magsaysay, suspect Angelo Valdez Simon was arrested after he sold to a cop marijuana leaves weighing two grams valued at P240. Also, in Upper Q.M, "Dino" was arrested after he sold suspected shabu weighing a gram valued at P6,800 to lawman who acted as buyer.
    Charges for illegal drugs were prepared against suspects by police.
