SAN CARLOS CITY, Pangasinan – A policeman was stabbed and killed by a security guard who is reportedly the husband of his lover, in Barangay Matagdem.
SPO4 Jose Resultan of the San Carlos City Police Office, said the victim, SPO2 Jimmy Cornel, 42, married, of Bonuan Gueset, Dagupan City, who was assigned at the police precinct at Tondaligan Beach, Dagupan, was stabbed several times by Placido Cadorna, 38 married, security guard of Mancar Agency, who was assigned at the Dagupan Electric Co. in Dagupan.
Police said the killing took place at about 2 a.m. on March 20 in the house of Mary Ann Cardona, 31, of Matagdem, San Carlos, the alleged lover of the victim.
Police said Placido entered the room and saw Mary Ann, his wife, and the policeman sleeping together.
Police said Placido stabbed the policeman several times. His wife was not harmed. Resultan said the husband learned that Mary Ann and the victim had an illicit affair and had been living together since last November.
This reportedly resulted in the separation of the couple. Police said Placido immediately fled, bringing along with him the weapon he had used in the killing of the
policeman.
Resultan said charges will be filed against the suspect.
