A soldier tagged in the killing of an 18-year-old student in Nueva Ecija last week has surrendered to authorities, the military said.
Army spokesman Maj. Ronald Alcudia told newsmen Pvt. Reian Aligem, primary suspect in the killing of Eusebio Jardiel Jr., turned himself over to the 7th Infantry Division last May 29.
Alcudia said the Headquarters Service Battalion and the 7th ID intelligence unit facilitated the surrender of Aligem, who is now detained at the Fort Magsaysay military police stockade.
Jardiel was reportedly shot along the Sta. Rosa-Dingalan Road in Barangay Mapalad, Sta. Rosa, Nueva Ecija. His body bearing three gunshot wounds was found some 150 meters away from an Army detachment.
