Ilocos region police officers promoted

CAMP FLORENDO, La Union — A total of 919 police officers assigned in the Ilocos Region were given promotions, Chief Supt. Franklin J.B. Bucayu announced Tuesday.

The regional director said he administered the mass oath-taking of the newly promoted police officers at the grandstand of the Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1) Headquarters in San Fernando City, La Union.

Those promoted were composed of 77 Police Commissioned Officers (PCOs) and 842 Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCOs) assigned in different police units and offices in Region 1, said Bucayu.

He said 68 of the PCOs were promoted to the rank of Senior Inspector while nine are new Inspectors.

The PNCOs were composed of 29 promoted to Senior Police Officer 4 (SPO4), 149 to SPO3, 32 to SPO2, 112 to SPO1, 290 to PO3, and 230 to PO2.

A number of promoted personnel from various Regional Support Units (RSUs) in Region1, led by Atty. Sover D.C. Gonting, chief of the Regional Legal Service 1, who was promoted to Police Superintendent, joined the said activity.

In his speech, Bucayu said: “I am hopeful that your oath-taking will spur you to strive harder on becoming model police officers worthy of respect by the community. Ipakita at ipadama ninyo sa sambayan ang maganda at tamang pag-uugali at pag-iisip ng pulis(Make the nation see and feel the goodness of your attitude and soundness of your mind).”
