4 miners nabbed for illegal guns, attempted homicide



ITOGON, Benguet -- Four private miners were arrested  inside the Benguet Mining Corp. here in Barangay Virac July 11  around 5 a.m. for illegal possession of firearms and attempted homicide.

A police report said Itogon cops led by SPO1 Manuel P. Ngail and BC security guards headed by MagnoRodriquesRodelo nabbed Darwin BinmangonBuhungan, 22 and Jody DuntogDulnuan, 24, both natives of Buyabuyan, Lagawe, Ifugao; Richard BicladBuhungan, 22 of Batuang, Virac, Itogon  and RomarWiganLambayong, 29, of Bananao, Paraceles, Mountain Province.

All were private miners working under James Floresca of Virac here who has a contract with BC to mine the area.

The report said prior to their arrest, the security guards were conducting patrol at the 1500 Level inside the BC compound when they saw Buhungan run away upon noticing the guards.

The guards chased and cornered him but Buhungan fired upon them hitting guard Rodyard B Borlaza.

The security guards recovered  a Cal .38 revolver loaded with five bullets, three pieces of dynamite among other gadgets used for mining.

The suspects and pieces of evidence were brought to the Itogon police station while court cases were readied against them.
