Drinking spree leads to death of laborer


TUBLAY, Benguet – A drinking spree led to the death of a laborer here after he was stabbed dead by a companion at SitioAdavong, Caponga here on July 16.

Police identified the victim as Raul P. Lingabanan, married while the suspect was named as Thomas B. Kiwang, 57, married, of Alab, Bontoc, Mt Province.

Both were residents of Adavong, Caponga, Tublay at the time of the incident.

The report said the two were having a drinking spree at the house of the victim when heated arguments ensued between them prompting Kiwang to stab Lingabanan using a bladed weapon.

Concerned citizens who saw the incident brought the victim to Benguet General Hospital in the capital town of  La Trinidad but Lingabanan was pronounced dead on arrival by Dr. Bebbie Sue Lecligen.

Kiwang was brought to Tublay town police station for investigation while a case was prepared against him for filing at the Prosecutor’s Office.
