BARLIG, Mountain Province -- In support to the Registered Nurses for Health Enhancement and Local Services (RNHEALS) program of the Department of Health, the municipal government here has provided its counterpart of P2,000 as additional allowance to RNHEALS nurses assigned in the municipality.
This was reported by
Municipal Health Officer Dr. Arlene Ottao during a recent Provincial Health
Board meeting.
Ottao said there are
five nurses and two midwives deployed in the municipality under RNHEALS last
year and each of them were given P2,000.
Their contract ended
Feb. 28.
Another seven RNHEALS
nurses are deployed this year and they will also receive a monthly P2,000
additional allowance.
The Department of
Health provides the monthly allowance of P8,000 to each of the RNHEALS nurses
and P6,000 to each of the midwives.
Also, the local
government units where the nurses and midwives are assigned are encouraged to
provide an additional P2,000.
Aside from its support
to RNHEALS nurses and midwives, the municipal government has also allotted last
year P500 to each of its 71 barangay health workers in the municipality as cash
incentive.
Barlig is a fifth
class municipality with a population of 5,838 people spread over its 11
