Police nab 26 in Cordillera for crimes



CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet  – Twenty six persons were arrested in the Cordillera for various offenses the past two weeks.

In Apayao, a 46- year old farmer was nabbed for stabbing a 24- year old male in Purok 3, San Juan, Sta Marcela, Apayao April 13, at around 6:30 p.m.

Police identified the suspect as Tito Sasis Diego while the victim was named as Rodolfo CabanglanSalcedo, both residents of said place.

Prior to the arrest, the victim reportedly created trouble when he started his motorcycle which prompted the suspect to confront the victim.

As a result, the suspect stabbed the victim on the left side of his body and neck.

Victim was immediately rushed to Sta. Marcela Hospital but pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.
           
Another was a 34-year old driver who was also arrested for hacking his 50 -year old step brother at Pugol, Lamut, Ifugao afternoon of April 12.
          
Police identified the suspect as Joseph Balaghit Dimmangna while the victim was named as Jose AyadawanDimmangna, both residents of Pugol, Lamut, Ifugao.

Earlier, the suspect who was holding a bolo went to the house of the victim where his visitors were having fun.

The victim was about to meet the suspect but was hacked on his forehead.

Dimmangna threatened to hack everybody but all ran away.

The victim was brought at the clinic of Dr. Vilma Q. Dela Cruz for medical treatment.

Later, one of the residents, Ambrosio Asuncion, a resident of Baretbet, Bagabag, NuevaVizcaya surrendered the bolo which the suspect 

In the early morning of April 15, five persons which included two minors were arrested by Mankayan police at the Poblacion.

Arrested persons were identified as: OrlieAbilangLiwan, 25, miner, of Ucab, Itogon, Benguet; PaulinoPalalagRosendo, Anthony VegicaRosendo, both 18 and the two minors, all resident of Payeo, Bedbed, Mankayan,

Paulino and Anthony Rosendo were caught in the act by patrolling policeman stealing personal property inside the van of Joel Tingbaoen.

Liwan and the two minors who acted as a lookout were arrested in a follow-up operation.

Police disclosed that the suspects took the following items inside the van of Tingbaoen:  Sumsung amplifier, belt bag, wallet containing the driver’s license of Jupiter SucdadCodem-o and a compact disk.
         
On the same day, Pidigan, Abra police with barangay officials arrested Randy SanidadBersalona, 32, a suspect who stabbed to death Ramil Solis Belisario, 26, truck driver of Barangay Garreta. Both were residents of Pidigan.
            
Prior to the incident, victim and the suspect with some friends were having a drinking spree when a heated argument ensued between the two that ended up with the stabbing.

As a result, the victim sustained multiple stab wounds on the different parts of his body and was rushed to the Abra Provincial Hospital for medical treatment but declared dead on arrival by attending physician.
            
The arrested suspects are now under the custody of Pidigan police while the two minors were turned over to the Department of Social Works and Development.

Also arrested at Lapting, Nagbukel, Ilocos Sur April 14 by Sallapadan, Abra police was BenedictoAbellanBolesa, 35, for rape with no recommended bail.

Judge Gavino B. Balbin Jr. earlier issued a warrant for Bolesa’s arrest.

Meanwhile, arrested in Tuba, Benguet was Ronald AnanayoLamsis, 36, resident of Km 6 Asin Road, Tadiangan in the town.

Judge Roberto P. Mabalot issued a warrant for his arrest for slight physical injuries.
            
Also arrested April 12 was Jhonsen Dangpalan Barbero, 19, of Namillangan, Alfonso Lista, Ifugao.
            
Alfonso Lista and San Mateo police, holding a warrant issued by Judge Eric D. Banasan arrested Barbero for reckless imprudence resulting in serious and slight physical pnjuries.

Banasan recommended P 10,000 for his temporary liberty

Two weeks ago wanted persons were arrested in the Cordillera for various crimes.
         
Benguet police arrested three wanted persons identified as Ryan Tolni, Albayi, 27 and Macario Sad-angBolawit, 25, both natives of Kalinga in Purok 2, Kias, Baguio City for attempted highgrading after a warrant was issued for their arrest by Judge Jose S. Encarnacion.

Benguet police also nabbed Portia BeydenAbello, 62, native of Besao, Mountain Province foe estafa.

Judge Marybelle L. Demot Marinas issued a warrant for her arrest but she was later released after posting bail.
William WayanBanuca, native of Mountain Province was also arrested following a warrant for her arrest issued by Judge Francis A. Buliyat, Regional Trial Court, La Trinidad, Benguet for violation of Republic Act  9262. 

In Abra, four persons were arrested in separate operations.

They were identified as follows:  AidoManzanoBasto, 44, of Barangay Bañacao, Bangued for frustrated murder; Edwin AcenaWacguisan, 30,  farmer of Barangay Cawayan, Baay-Licuan town for theft; and PetroniloTaverner Vasquez, 45, of Zone 3, Bangued, Abra for attempted arson.
            
Still in Abra, a former barangay treasurer of Barangay Presentar, Lagangilang, identified as ElbirioLauretaGabanes was arrested and detained at the Provincial Jail of Bangued town for  falsification of public documents.
            
In Apayao, police arrested two wanted persons identified as Lim A Cabeliza, 37, for frustrated murder in Barangay San Juan, Sta. Marcela.

She had a recommended bail bond of P 200,000.

Also arrested in Apayao was Martina Sengal, 51, of Taracay Lenneng, Kabugao for theft with bail set at P40, 000.
            
Chief Supt. Benjamin B. Magalong, regional police chief earlier ordered all police personnel in Cordillera to go after wanted persons particularly those with warrants to ease pending cases in court.
