POLICE ROUNDUP


Marijuana turned over to Kalinga cops
LUBUAGAN, Kalinga – Personnel of the army’s 17th Infantry Battalion PA led by Sgt. Fedencio Constantino turned over 14 bricks of marijuana to police here on July 17. 

Police said around 12 noon that day, police were conducting mobile checkpoint along the junction of Duyaas, Barangay Poblacion, Lubuagan, when they noticed a motorcycle driven by unidentified person.

Upon seeing them, the driver speed away towards Tabuk City road.

At about 2:30 same day, troops of the 17th IB, led by Sgt Fedencio Constantino found two backpacks left unattended along the side of the road at Junction Duyaas, Poblacion.

They found each bag contained seven bricks of marijuana  which they turned over to police.

Nine wanted persons nabbed in Cordillera  
CAMP BADO DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – Police arrested the fourth most wanted person in the region including eight others wanted for various crimes.

Chief Sup. Benjamin B. Magalong, regional police director identified him as Conrado Ampoy Gudaden alias “Condring”, 57, resident of Cabacab, Balili, Mankayan, Benguet.
            
Judge Agapito K. Laoagan, Jr. of the Regional Trial Court Branch 64 in Abatan, Buguias, Benguet issued his warrant of arrest for kidnapping.

Joint personnel of the PNP-Intelligence Group, Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU-14), Mankayan and Buguias Municipal Police Stations and Benguet P0rovincial Public Safety Company arrested the suspect at his residence.

Meanwhile, eight other wanted persons were nabbed separately in their respective homes.

Two were arrested for robbery in band identified as Jimmy Ballong Batang-ay, and Hitler Atumpa Ballong, both residents of Nambaran, Tabuk City, Kalinga.

Both were arrested by virtue of a warrant issued by Judge Felipe Jesus Torio II of the RTC Branch 22, Cabagan, Isabela.

Two other individuals were arrested by virtue of a warrant issued by Judge Iluminada Cabato. They were identified as Wilson Casagan Mondejar, 41, and a resident of San Narciso, Zambales who were charged for two counts of Republic Act 7610 known as Special Protection Against Child Abuse and five counts of lasciviousness.

Meanwhile.Perry Claro Castulo, 43, Bombo Radio employee, and resident of Lourdes Subdivision, Baguio City was arrested for violation of RA 9262 also known as the "Anti-Violence Against Women and their children.

Four individuals were also arrested for estafa.   They were identified as Maritess Felipe Dupingay, 30, and a resident of Delos Reyes St, Outlook Drive, Baguio City; Joe Reauno Verzosa, 34, and a resident of San Antonio Village, Baguio City; Lagmayan E. Malinga, 39, and a resident of Antamok Tram, Ucab, Itogon, Benguet and Rosely Dukitan Ramos, 30, and a resident of Turod, Luna, Apayao.
All arrested persons are now under the custody of the municipal police stations concerned except Dupingay, Verzosa, Malinga and Castulo who were later released after posting bail.


Van falls down Sagada town ravine; two hurt
SAGADA, Mountain Province -- A black Pregio van with plate number WTY 969 driven by Sanny Apura Rodriguez, 21,  native of San Isidro, Samar and presently residing in Bangaan, Sagada, Mt. Province fell down a 60- meter deep ravine here along the road at Barangay Antadao around 8:30 on July 13.

Investigation disclosed while the vehicle was en route to Bontoc, Mt. Province when the driver stopped to pick up a hitch hiker, but the left wheel reached the loose portion of the road causing the vehicle to fall into the ravine.
            
As a result, two passengers namely Diklaw Sumbad Panoyo, 38, resident of Bangaan and Jelson Inton Rodriguez, 17, of San Isidro, Samar now residing at Bangaan, Sagada sustained injuries on their bodies while the driver was unhurt.

The Injured passengers were brought to St. Theodore’s Hospital of Sagada for medical treatment.

Kid rapes female minor
BAGUIO CITY -- A female minor was raped by a male minor  at about 4 p.m. July 13, here at the Grace Baptist Church, No. 72 Sto. Rosario Valley,   

Initial investigation disclosed that suspect asked the victim to accompany him inside the school gym by climbing up the locked gate at the back of the school.

Once inside, the suspect grabbed and tied the victim, raped the victim and took here cell phone and cash of P60.
          
The incident was reported at about 6 p.m. of same date by the victim and her uncle identified as Ferdinand Abugan to personnel of Police Station 5.

The victim was later brought to the Baguio General Hospital for Medico-legal examination.

The suspect voluntarily surrendered to Station 5 police by his guardians and was referred to the Social Development Center here at Balenben Irisan, on advise of inquest prosecutor Jossie Perallta.

Thieves rob Bontoc house of P91,600
BONTOC, Mountain Province – Unidentified suspects robbed a house here at Barangay Samoki night of July 13 and carted away cash and equipment worth P91,600,

Complainant Cesar L. Dizon, 59, Public Works and Highways employee and a resident of said place against unidentified told the police the heist could have happened
around 1 to 4:30 a.m.

Investigation disclosed the suspect/s entered the house through the unlocked window near the main door and carted away the following items: shoulder bag containing cash of P24,000, two ATM cards, Apple cell phone worth P30,000, range bag containing eight magazines for Cal. 45 (with bullets) worth P12,000 and
box containing  barrel and slide for Cal. 45 worth P20,000 with 200 bulletsfor Cal.45 and Cal. 9mm worth P5,600.

At around 2:46 a.m. of same date, Marjorie F. Dizon woke up and noticed her bag scattered at the main gate of their residence that prompted the couple to report the incident to police.
