Baguio traffic scheme for Panagbenga fest bared


BAGUIO CITY --  With the expected  influx of visitors  during the  highlights of the month-long  19th Panagbenga Festival  this month, the  Baguio City Police Office has  come up with  detailed  security and traffic plan to ensure safety and order.

Cayad said those coming from Kennon Road may take Military Cut-off and park at allowed roadside parking area, Gov. Pack Road to UP Drive, Upper Harrison Road to Gov. Pack Rd. and may park at Baguio Convention Center Baguio City National High School (BCNHS) Pay Parking or Bus Parking from BCNHS to Japanese Garden. Motorists may also take Kisad Rd. and park at allowed roadside parking area from Prieto Compound to Marcelo H. Del Pilar St. Private buses may take Kisad Rd to Abad Santos Drive then park at Old City Library (closed at 6 a.m.)

On the other hand, those coming from Marcos Highway may take Legarda  Road, right turn to Gen. Lim St. and park at roadside parking areas, Baguio General Hospital Rotunda to Kisad Road and park at roadside parking areas, Military Cut-off and park at roadside parking areas, or Gov Pack Rd and park at allowed parking areas.

Vehicles coming from Naguilian Road may take Yandoc St. to Legarda Rd., turn left to General Lim St. and park at roadside parking areas, turn right to Yandoc St. to Legarda Rd. toward Kisad Rd. then park at available roadside parking areas, or they may take Shuntug St., turn right to Abanao Extension, Kisad Rd. then park at roadside parking areas.

From La Trinidad, motorists may take Magsaysay Rd. then park at allowed parking areas, take Bokawkan Rd. and park at allowed roadside parking, or they may take Bokawkan Rd., turn left to Naguilian Rd. toward Yandoc St. then park at allowed roadside parking areas along Kisad Rd. or Abanao St.

Those coming from Ambuklao Road may take Leonard Wood Rd. and park at Brent Road, Mabini Elementary School or Baguio Cathedral, take Leonard Wood Rd., turn right to General Luna Rd. then park at University of Baguio Pay Parking area, or take Leonard Wood Rd., then Brookside toward La Trinidad or South Drive, CJH, Loakan Rd. toward Kennon Rd.

Motorists from Kennon Road who wish to go to La Trinidad, Mines View or Pacdal may pass through Loakan Road to avoid traffic congestion. 

Vehicles from Marcos Highway bound to Naguilian Road, Bokawkan Road and Longlong may pass through the access or circumferential road and vehicles from the Slaughter Area may divert toward Bokawkan Road or  Public utility jeepneys may take a U-turn toward point of origin.


Cayad  urged  motorists  to  strictly follow the different temporary traffic re-routing and  parking  schemes to ensure that the flow of traffic will not be difficult  during the annual staging of the Baguio Flower Festival. --JDP/ RMC   and Roger Federico
