Baguio gov’t imposes parking rates on city-owned properties

BAGUIO CITY – The city government has already implemented parking rates for city owned and city administered properties in this mountain resort.

Pursuant to Administrative Order No. 243 series of 2013 approved by Mayor Mauricio Domogan last year, the implementation of the parking rates is effective this year.

AO no. 243 provides certain areas at the Slaughter Compound, public market and Burnham Park are among the areas where fees will be collected.

For the Slaughter Compound, motorcycle rates are P10 for the first two hours and P5 for each succeeding two hours, light vehicles (jeepneys, cars and puv) rates are P35 for first two hours and P10 for every succeeding hour.

For trucks and buses without contract with the city government, rates are P75.00 for the first two hours and P15.00 for every succeeding hour.

Overnight parking for small vehicles is pegged at P200 and P300 for trucks and buses without MOA with the city government.

Rates for the public market bagsakan area and streets is P35, this however is from 8 a.m. onwards.
Trucks will not be charged parking fees at the bagsakan area from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m.

However, they will be charged P20 for each additional hour after 8 a.m.

Also, trucks who park at the bagsakan area after 8 a.m. will be charged P35 per hour. 

They will not be allowed to park at designated street parking at anytime.

Private vehicles are not allowed to park at the bagsakan area from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. and can avail of the off-street parking at P35 for the first 2 hours and P10 for each additional hour.

Fees will also be collected at the Burnham Park fronting Orchidarium, Old City Auditorium, area near the Baguio Police Women’s Desk Office, Jose Abad Santos Drive and Lake Drive and other city-owned and city-administered parks.

For light vehicles, a minimal fee of P35 for the first two hours and P10 for each additional hour will be collected.

For mini-buses used for excursions by tourists, a fee of P40 will be collected for the first two hours and P15 for each additional hour.

For regular tourist buses, P400 for the first two hours and P15 for each additional hour is imposed.

Fee for motorcycles is P10 for the first two hours and P5 per additional hour.

Overnight parking between 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. is P300 and only applies to Burnham Park.

Trucks, regular buses, tricycles and other PUVs  are not allowed to park anytime.

The imposition of fees was recommended by the Baguio City Market Authority (BCMA) and the Traffic Management Committee (TMC) for regulation and maintenance purposes.
