BANGUED, Abra -- With
graduation fast approaching, the Department of Education here reiterated the department’s policy of no
graduation fees to be collected by public elementary and secondary schools.
Abra OIC Division
Schools Superintendent Amador DS Garcia however qualified that donations can be collected if agreed
upon by the parents during a special meeting of the Parents-Teachers
Association (PTA) of the schools. The agreement must be reflected in the
minutes of the PTA meeting.
The “no graduation
fees policy” is a relief to many
parents especially during these hard times, he
said.
Garcia announced that
the schedule of graduation in all public elementary and secondary schools in
the province will be on March 27 – 28, 2014 only.
The schedule of
graduation in all public schools is fixed with the presumption that all make-up
classes had all been accomplished within the school year.
Meanwhile, Garcia disclosed that they are now in the process of
computerization for all the schools with
release of funds for their internet connectivity.
