Benguet police OIC assumes post
LA
TRINIDAD, Benguet -- A former chief of the Baguio City Police Office assumed
leadership of Benguet Provincial Police Office.
Cordillera
police director Chief Supt. Isagani Nerez presided turnover ceremonies of
outgoing Benguet police director Senior Supt. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. to incoming
officer-in-charge, Senior Supt. David Lacdan.
Azurin,
a member of Philippine Military Academy Class 1989, served as Benguet top cop since January 2013.
He will
be moving to office of policies, plans and programs of directorate for
personnel and management in Camp Crame.
Lacdan,
of PMA Class 1987, occupied various positions with the BCPO and PRO-COR
including chief of the intelligence operations division of directorate for
intelligence.
He will
be OIC of the Benguet police until Gov. Nestor Fongwan chooses
a provincial director from among list of candidates that include four
other police officers.
In his
message, Azurin thanked local and police officials, his mentors and the
community, saying during his stint as provincial director he focused on the two
“C’s” of a great leader, “competence and character” - which he hopes would be
lived by police officers.
Lacdan
vowed to sustain the peacekeeping efforts and continue programs started by
Azurin.
He said
he will focus on crime prevention and solution.
Modern
Kalinga police prov’l office to rise soon
TABUK
CITY, Kalinga –he police provincial office here will soon have a modern
building following ground
breaking of the multi-million project here
at Camp Juan Duyan last week.
The
amount of P10.7 million was provided from the Trust Receipt Fund of the
Philippine National Police through initiative of Rep. Manuel Agyao for the
construction of two-storey, 12 x 20-meter
building.
A P4M
counterpart of the province will be spent on fixtures, furniture and other
amenities of the office.
The
project is expected to be completed in 345 days.
Gov.
JocelBaac, in his message, urged policemen who will occupy soon the standard
PNP building to give their best to their sworn duties of protecting the people.
“There
is no use to have a new and modern building if delivery of public service
deteriorates,” Baac said. “The more we should be committed to serve the public
if we have good office and facilities”.
Cordillera
Police regional director, Chief Supt.
Isagani Nerez in his message read by his staff, said “the PNP did not only spark on its
reform agenda but also on modernization particularly upgrading its physical facilities
as a sign of the unwavering reform of the PRO-Cordillera leadership to achieve
institutional reform with the support of the provincial LGUs and communities.”
Senior Supt.
George Daskeo, provincial police director, said
“it is a dream come true for the men and women of KPPO to have in a few
months an office they call their home, standard and modern with equipment and

PRO-COR
joins BrigadaEskwela activities for school opening
LA
TRINIDAD, Benguet–Cordillera police joined
the Department of Education and other education stakeholders in Brigada Eskwela to ensure public elementary
and high schools will be ready school opening on June 1.
Police extended
assistance to the DepEd’s program by helping in the cleaning, repair and
repainting of chairs, tables, and walls
as well as cleaning of roofs and beautification of the classrooms and grounds
in the different schools regionwide.
Police
officers also helped in building and repairing of structures inside and outside
the classrooms including building of riprap walls and fencing in schools.
Aside
from the Brigada Eskwela program in line with Oplan Balik Eskwela ,police were also
deployed to provide security within the vicinity of schools and along major
routes leading to all learning institutions where police assistance desks were established.
Anti-criminality
campaign will be continuously conducted in crime- prone areas and school
premises, said regional police director Chief Supt.IsaganiNerez.
He cautioned
students to be wary of strangers and to refrain from talking to them. “Avoid
wearing expensive jewelry and bringing
large amount of money or using expensive phones while on streets,” he said.
