8 public, 38 private schools opening senior high school

BAGUIO CITY -- Eight out of 19 public schools and 38 private schools in this summer resort will be opening senior high school in the coming school year 2016-2017.

The construction of buildings of the eight public schools has been continuous and it will be completed by May before the school year begins which will hopefully be enough to absorb the upcoming students, officials said.

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority had agreed with the

Department of Education in training Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) and Technical Vocational Livelihood (TVL) teachers in assessment and certification.

They have also been reportedly preparing learning materials and equipment that will be used by the students who will be taking soon TLE and TVL.

Last January, DepEd has released the official hiring guidelines for teachers who want to apply for Senior High, School Year 2016-2017.

There will be a meeting of management committee today regarding the finalization of materials for senior high school while a meeting for division finalization was held Friday.
