16 hurt in Natonin town road accident


NATONIN, Mountain Province – Sixteen persons were injured when a jeep they were riding in fell down a road here around 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Police said the incident happened t Sitio Mangnao, Barangay Saliok when the vehicle’s brakes stopped functioning. The vehicle bearing Plate Number DSX FI8 was driven by Celso Bagyan, 39 of Loo, Buguias Benguet.
Rescuers composed of police, fire disaster and Paracelis Community Hospital extricated the victims from the jeep.
Investigation disclosed the vehicle was traversing the road towards Paracelis when it suddenly lost its breaks and moved fast forward until it fell on the right side of the road.
The following passengers to include the driver were injured and were brought to hospitals for medical attention: Liwag, Noli Macario, Junison L. Dangpa, Julius D. Paleng, Meriam L. Dangpa, Marvin A. Bilog. Celso K. Bagyan and Jason L. Dangpa.
Also injured were Brenda Bagyan, Samuel, Benito, Samuel Bekigan, Sonita Dangpa,  Edmard Aggang, Remy Dolores,  Arlyn Dolores, Sheila Bilao and Dan Focasan.
Passengers who were referred to Natonin Infirmary Clinic were released by the attending physician after treatment.
The vehicle was damaged.
