DOLE gives cash to kin of 4 cops slain in Kalinga


CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga --The Dept. of Labor and Employment  recently awarded cash for livelihood projects to beneficiaries of policemen killed  and wounded while doing their jobs.
DOLE Cordillera director Exequiel Ronie Guzman  led  awarding of  P20,000 livelihood each to Senior Insp. Eduardo Liclic who was wounded in action,  Ameliza Aguinaldo, wife of PO2 Jovenal Aguinaldo, Fenny Elizabeth Compas, spouse of PO1 Charles Ryan Compas; Lucia Tay-od, parent of PO1 Vincent Tay-od,  and Rosita Lawagan, mother of  PO3 Cruzaldo Lawagan.
These policemen were casualties in a shootout while serving warrant of arrest to to a top wanted person in   Malusong, Antonio Canao, Lubuagan, Kalinga last Feb. 21.

Guzman said DOLE is also giving  assistance to interested and qualified organized groups,  drug surrenderees and victims of disaster Meanwhile, DoLE awarded a  sewing project worth P404,000 to  student technologist entrepreneurs of Pinukpuk Vocational School and cacao tablea processing project to Bantay Improvement Club worth  P665,000. -- PIA Kalinga
