BAGUIO CITY — The
Dept. of Health-Cordillera Administrative Region Wednesday said all 28 persons
under investigation (PUIs) in the region in mandatory quarantine have tested
negative for the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).
Dr. Amelita
Pangilinan, DOH-CAR officer-in-charge, said the results of the blood test of
the remaining PUIs have been released and have been cleared of the Covid-19.
Health
officials require that PUIs and persons under monitoring (PUMs) be placed on
quarantine for 14 days, the period when the Covid-19 symptoms will be evident.
The PUMs are
asked to do self-quarantine while the health condition of the person is
continuously monitored.
Pangilinan
said the 28 PUIs are composed of 11 in Baguio City, seven in Abra, five in
Benguet, three in Mountain Province, one each in Apayao and in Kalinga.
She said the
ages of the PUIs ranged from 10 months old to 57 years old.
“We hope to
maintain that status,” Pangilinan said, referring to the region in being
Covid-19 free.
The DOH
reported that there are 80 PUMs in the region, 70 of whom completed their
14-day self-quarantine. (with
