Pangasinan COVID-19 update: 15 confirmed cases, 6 deaths

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – The Pangasinan provincial government and the Department of Health (DOH) reported a total of 15 confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Tuesday, March 31. Of these cases, six have died, while nine are still confined at hospitals.
It was also reported that the province has 49 patients under investigation (PUIs). There have also been 34 recoveries.
The number of persons under monitoring (PUMs) was still enormous at 78,547, with 45,077 under 14-day quarantine, 197 still completing their quarantine, and 33,273 who have already completed isolation.
Of 44 municipalities and four cities in Pangasinan, eleven have confirmed positive COVID 19 cases. These are Lingayen, Rosales, Asingan, Urdaneat City, Pozorubio, Malasiqui, Bayambang, Basista, Urbiztondo, Bugallon, and Infanta.
The latest death was a 70-year-old man from Malasiqui, who was admitted on March 16, but died on Monday, March 30.
A PUI from Barangay Libsong West in Lingayen died March 25, but was only confirmed to have been COVID-19 positive Monday, March 30.
“Buong pagdadalamhati pong ipinaabot ng Lokal na Pamahalaan ng Lingayen ang unang kaso ng COvID-19 sa ating bayan,” said Lingayen Mayor Leopoldo Bataoil in a statement.
