CITY OF TABUK -- Police uprooted 2,500 fully grown marijuana
plants worth around P1 million here at Sitio Ileb, Nambaran in
two separate operations on June 6.
The marijuana
plants valued at P500,000 under the Dangerous Drug Board (DDB) were
burned and destroyed at site by personnel of the 1st Kalinga Provincial
Mobile Force Co. led by Lt. Col. Joseph Eujie Almaquer.
A police report
shows said operatives of 1st KPMFC while on patrol chanced upon a marijuana
plantation with about 1,000 fully grown marijuana
plants valued at P200,000.
On the same day, the team
discovered another plantation with about 1,500 fully
grown marijuana plants valued at P300,000.
Kalinga police headed by
Col. Davy Vicente Limmong commended personnel of 1st KPMFC for the eradication
operation. “This operation shows how police are relentless in their
anti-illegal drugs operation. This serves as a warning to the cultivators to
stop their illegal activities," he said. -- PAB-PIA CAR, Kalinga
