SAN FERNANDO CITY -- The Ilocos
Department of Social Welfare and Development reported as of August 3, more than
300,000 beneficiaries from Pangasinan have received the second tranche of the
social amelioration program (SAP).
Darwin Chan, regional information
officer of DSWD FO 1, said that Pangasinan is the only province among the four
provinces of Region 1 that received the second tranche as recommended by
the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF).
“Pangasinan lamang po
dito sa Region 1 ang nakatanggap ng pangalawang ayuda ng gobyerno dahil ito
lamang po ang nailagay under enhanced community quarantine status mula May
1-15,” said
Chan.
Latest data showed 361,563 of the
targeted 556,917 beneficiaries in Pangasinan have received the said cash
aid.
This translates to almost 65 percent of
accomplishment.
Of the total number of beneficiaries, 100
percent accomplishment in the distribution of cash assistance was noted in all
123,789 Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries.
On the other hand, 237,774 out of 433,128
non-4Ps recipients have received their financial support.
Overall, this provides an actual pay out
amounting to P1,821,481,350.
P513,724,350.00 was paid to 4Ps
beneficiaries, mostly through their cash card while Php1,307,757,000.00
was disbursed to non-4Ps via Financial Service Providers (FSPs) namely GCash,
RCBC, and Starpay.
“Ang DSWD ay
nakipartner po sa ating FSPs sa pamamagitan ng Memorandum of Agreement para mas
mapabilis po ang pagbibigay ng ayuda sa ating mga kababayan,” Chan
said.
Meanwhile, a total of 24,166
waitlisted beneficiaries in the region received the same cash assistance in the
amount of P5,500 each.
Per province, Pangasinan has the most
number of recipients with 16,593; Ilocos Sur with 4,666; La Union with 1,722;
and Ilocos Norte with 1,185.
“The amount paid to waitlisted
beneficiaries reached P132,913,000.00,” said Chan.
At the national level, DSWD Secretary Rolando
Bautista said that more than P58.5 billion cash aid under the SAP second
tranche has already been distributed to 8, 979, 360 beneficiaries.
“Umaabot tayo ng 63
percent kasi marami pa ang mga payouts na ipoproseso. Ang ineestimate namin ay
aabot tayo ng 80 percent within this week and, hopefully by second week of
August, ay makaabot tayo sa 100 percent,” he said in an
interview on Network Briefing News hosted by Communications Secretary Martin
Andanar.
Meanwhile, aside from the distribution of
the second tranche of cash aid, the Secretary enumerated the other programs of
the department for those who are in need, especially during this time of the
Covid-19 crisis. (JCR/JND, PIA La Union)
