DSWD: Cordillera SAP 2nd tranche pays almost done


BAGUIO CITY - - The Department of Social Welfare and Development is currently working for the direct payout of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) second tranche financial subsidy and hopes  to reach out to all qualified family beneficiaries in Baguio City and Benguet sooner.
DSWD Cordillera  regional director Leo Quintilla, in a media forum Aug. 11 reported  84 percent accomplishment for direct payout for second tranche SAP target beneficiaries.
To be paied yet are areas locked down due  Covid -19 cases. 
For the waitlisted SAP beneficiaries, direct payout  by the regional DSWD  reached 97 percent accomplishment, he added.
Based on DSWD data,   total target is 98,490 family beneficiaries in Cordillera for the SAP second tranche of which 69,311  receive their P5,500 cash subsidy through Financial Service Provider  while 29, 196  through  direct payout.
For Benguet towns Atok, Bakun, Bokod, Kabayan, Kibungan and Sablan, the SAP financial distribution  was  through direct payout by DSWD-CAR.
For Baguio City and Benguet municipalities of Itogon, Kapangan, Mankayan, La Trinidad, Tuba, and Tublay, distribution of cash assistance was through direct payout and FSP
Quintilla said 100 percent of the fund allocation  thru FSP  was transferred to contracted financial service providers and beneficiarieswere  being contacted and given instructions through the mobile phone numbers they have registered.
Payout for   several family beneficiaries in Baguio City, Mankayan and Kapangan  is through  Paymaya,  Star Pay  for Buguias and Itogon beneficiaries  and  G Cash for La Trinidad, Tuba and Tublay. 
Amid Covid-19 pandemic Quintilla said  they are now working how to incorporate minimum health requirements and safety protocols to ensure safety of their clients and the DSWD personnel and other local partners/stakeholders in the delivery of social welfare and development services to the people. -- PIA CAR
