Mt Province Covid cases rise: health rules pressed


BONTOC, Mountain Province – The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Council headed by Gov. Bonifacio Lacwasan urged the public follow health protocols with rise of Covid-19 cases in the province.
Based on report of the Provincial Health Office, the latest two cases from Sagada and Bontoc were frontliners.
The 29 year-old male frontliner from Sagada had no history of travel outside the province while the 29 year old male police officer from Bontoc has just been reassigned to Mountain Province from the National Capital Region.
He first reported to the Cordillera Police Regional Office at Camp Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet July 20 - 29 and  arrived in Bontoc July 30.
Both patients qwew asymptomatic and placed in isolation.
Earlier, a 39 year old from the frontline service who came home to Tadian from NCR tested positive for Covid-19, the first case of the municipality.
The province has now nine confirmed cases with five already recovered.
                “We can greatly protect ourselves and our communities by taking the most practical and proactive measures against the Covid-19 – wherever we are and whoever we are with outside our homes, let us wear our masks, observe physical distancing and never forget to do proper handwashing whenever the need arises,” the PDRRMC advisory stated.
Healthy diet and proper exercise were also encouraged to help boost resistance against diseases. -- JDP/PIA Mt. Province
