BAGUIO CITY -- Four persons were arrested and charged of usurpation of authority for using a hospital logo in trying to gain entry to the city last August 18.
Baguio City Police Office Director P/Col. Allen Rae Co said the Baguio General Hospital Medical Center represented by Medical Specialist IV Dr. Frederick Mars Untalan filed the case August 19 against the suspects identified as David Rivers, 60; Nick Narag Sy, 34; Violeta Rivera, 69; and Elizabeth Rivera, 42 all residents of Pideg, Tubao, La Union with city address at Lourdes Ext..Naguillian Road.
Co said elements of Police Station 10 manning the Modified Community Quarantine Checkpoint along Marcos Highway intercepted the van carrying the four suspects around 9:30 a.m. last August 18.
Verification showed that the use of the BGHMC logo was not sanctioned by the hospital.
Co said the suspects are in the custody of the BCPO.
Untalan said they filed the case hoping that the incident would serve as a "lesson to those who are falsifying documents to enter Baguio City."
