BAGUIO CITY -- A few hours after the announcement of liquor ban lifting by Sept. 1, the Baguio City police apprehended four construction workers having a drinking session in their construction site along Kitma Road, Bakakeng Central around 10 pm August 29.
In a report furnished to Mayor Benjamin Magalong by BCPO Director Allen Rae Co, Police Station 10 IOC PSSg Marvic Diokno said they arrested Oscar Labadan, 44; Lugie Basada, 34; Hector Bale, 38; and Jay Basada, 22 for drunkenness and wanton disregard of the liquor ban.
The suspects are workers of Gold Faith Construction Incorporated with office address at Pacita, Laguna which is currently undertaking a housing project in said area.
A couple of hours before the incident, the mayor announced plans to lift the liquor ban beginning Sept. 1.
"We will not tolerate the irresponsible behavior of drunk people. We are suspending the operation of the contractor," the mayor said.
He said this incident should serve as stern warning to the people to be responsible amid the plan to ease up restrictions on liquor sale and consumption beginning September 1.
