P19.2-M marijuana burned, 6 druggies held

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet -- - More than 19.2 million worth of marijuana plants in seven plantation sites were burned while seven drug personalities in Benguet were arrested Jan. 10-16.
     In Kibungan town, police destroyed around 62,170 fully-grown marijuana plants, 125 marijuana seedlings and 30 kilos of dried marijuana stalks worth P16,039,000.
    In Bakun town, police discovered some 16,150 fully-grown marijuana plants worth P3,230,000 in three plantations at Barangay Kayapa.
    All marijuana plants were uprooted and burned the site.
    Meanwhile, Benguet police arrested six drug personalities:
    Amiel G. Eligores, Rasmia Ebra Balang, Sharon G. Lorenzana, Rommel C. Lagera, Jojit A. Tesion and Hazel Mae Guiles Dogcio.
    In La Trinidad, an alleged drug personality  was arrested in a buy-bust operation Jan.18.
    Gideon Lastimosa Manzano, 50, was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Betag, La Trinidad.
    La Trinidad police said Manzano was arrested after he sold three sachets of suspected shabu to drug operatives who acted as buyer.
    Three sachets of shabu worth P6,868,  P6,000 bills and Vivo cell phone were confiscated from him.
    The items were listed as evidence in the presence of barangay kagawad Fredirick Compalas and Denver Bastingo as media representative.
