Ilocos Norte prepares for face-to-face classes

By Ma. Joreina Therese A. Blanco

LAOAG CITY – The Schools Division of Ilocos Norte is now preparing for possible re-opening of face-to-face classes.
According to Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Joan Corpuz, school heads and teachers should maintain cleanliness with or without pupils.
“Lahat ng ating schools are always on the go if President Rodrigo Duterte approves face-to-face classes,” Corpuz said during an outdoor press conference at the schools division office.
With the arrival of vaccines March 1 in Metro Manila, the schools division superintendent said she hopes inoculation in Ilocos Norte will also start soon.
She added personnel from the division office are oriented on the vaccination program and participants signified their desire to receive shots when vaccines will be locally available.
Following President Rodrigo Duterte’s order to postpone again the pilot implementation in some areas, Gov. Matthew Marcos Manotoc said most parents and teachers in the province were in favor of resuming on-site classes for children in areas with no Covid-19 cases.
He said 14 percent of parents and 24 percent teachers were against face-to-face classes based on online survey by the schools division. -- PIA Ilocos Norte
