1,120 cops secure Holy Week in Cordillera


CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – The Police Regional Office-Cordillera deployed 1,120 policemen to secure Holy Week in the region.
    Brig. Gen. David Peredo Jr., Cordillera police director, said police were deployed in major thoroughfares and transportation hubs.
    They were strategically deployed to increase police presence and ensure order in malls, parks, markets, and areas where religious activities were held.
    Peredo instructed police chiefs in the Cordillera to coordinate with their local government units in providing traffic management assistance, particularly Baguio and Benguet where an influx of people are expected for the solemn occasion.
    Peredo met key PRO-Cordillera officers to lay out security plans and conduct coordination with other concerned agencies for the Holy Week.
    The Armed Forces of the Philippines, Bureau of Fire Protection and volunteers were also deployed to assist police in securing Holy Week in Cordillera.
