Cook, engineer nabbed for sale of illegal drugs

BAGUIO CITY – Two men in their 50s, both in the watch list of drug personalities in the Cordillera, were recently nabbed here by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

They were identified as Carlos Quipse y Catacutan alias “Andy,” 57 and George Cabasa y Ramirez alias “James,” 52.

The two were arrested selling a sachet of shabu to a regional PDEA agent during a buy-bust operation around 7 p.m. Dec. 30 at here Military Cut-off.

Quipse, married, resident of 220 Upper Tacay, Pinsao Proper here, cook by occupation has a degree holder in English and Psychology; while Cabasa, married of Bontoc, Mountain Province and resident of 156 Military Cut-off is a civil engineer.

The confiscated shabu from the suspects weighed 0.3 grams valued at P3,400.

A case for illegal drugs was filed against Quipse and Cabasa before the Office of the City Prosecutor.

From the PDEA office, the suspects were incarcerated in the city jail following an order by the inquest prosecutor.

Meanwhile, the seized shabu was brought to the regional crime laboratory office for chemical analysis.
