DILG releases P7million incentive fund to Kalinga

For passing ‘Seal of Good Local Governance’ 

TABUK CITY, Kalinga --Gov. Jocel C. Baac  recently received from the  Department of Interior and Local Government a P7 million  incentive  for passing the 2015 Seal of Good Local Governance .
           Baac said the P7 million will be used to continue ongoing provincial road four-lane improvement project. Previous cash incentives from the same award had been utilized for this priority infrastructure project to sustain Tabuk as agricultural and commercial center of the province.
          Meanwhile, DILG-Cordillera regional director John Castaneda also handed check of P1.2 million for   a drainage system project in Barangay Mabilong, Lubuagan under Bottom-up-Budgeting fund.
         He said the P4 million Special Local Road Fund (SLRF) for Tabuk City is ready for release as he urged the city government to immediately submit requirements.
              City Local Government Operations Officer Mayer Adong said the money will be used for the city government’s street light installation project in Barangays Poblacion Centro and Poblacion West. He said the project is programmed to be implemented first quarter in 2016. --  Larry T. Lopez
