NPA rebel yields to government troops



LAGANGILANG, Abra -- A communist rebel voluntarily surrendered without firearm to joint elements of 503rd Brigade and 41st Infantry Battalion at Barbarit, Tagodtod here Oct. 28.

Col. Miguel Puyao Jr. information officer of the 5th Infantry Division said the surrender was facilitated by Senior Insp. Allen Agwiking of Mt Province and 1st Lt. Junmar M. Tutoy, Commanding Officer of Charlie Company, 41st Infantry Battalion.

A report sent to the office of Gen, Joel P. Ibanes, Commander of the Army’s 5th Infantry Division, identified the rebel returnee as Ricardo M. Dugayen of Kilusang Larangan North.
               
Dugayen was reportedly under Joel Bungana, operating in Tineg-Lacub-Malibcong area.
               
The report disclosed Lacub Mayor Estelita B Bersamin also helped in making Dugayen surrender.
               
Dugayen said he opted to return to the fold of the law because he suffered too much staying with the underground movement without sufficient food to eat and always hiding from military operations.
               
Under the rebel returnee program of the government, he will be given initial financial and livelihood assistance for him to start a new life.

So we could help our children (the future) having a bright-morning ta uston jay 40 years or more nga conflict tayo with no positive results, instead just losing our own Pinoy brothers and sisters so it is time, I think, to start Peace within our own selves and use our HEART to sit together and talk-out our differences over a cup of our own-grown Barako (and not with a Baril) because at the end all we wanted is having a privilege for a safe and a restful sleep and have a Peaceful morning :-).
