Ifugao starts 3 p.m. habit to deter crime

KIANGAN, Ifugao – The provincial police command has recently implemented “3 p.m. habit” to lessen crime in 11 municipalities of the province following a directive of Senior Supt. Angelito Casimiro,  acting Ifugao police director.

In this town, the municipal police station started the “habit” with daily mobile checkpoints in strategic places from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.   Insp. Christian Salonga, chief of police here, said they will also implement mobile checkpoints daytime or at night in the national highway and provincial road.

The activity includes checking registration of motor vehicles, driver’s license, and conduct of information dissemination on drivers of motor vehicles on the helmet law which will was strictly implemented starting Jan.1, 

“We see to it also that there will be no overloading of vehicles that usually cause accidents,” he said.

Salonga reported that since they implemented the 3 p.m. habit, they apprehended traffic violators on overloading who were fined P150 at the Municipal Treasurer’s Office.
