Bontoc gives fertilizers, rat traps to farmers

BONTOC, Mountain Province – The local government here through the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist distributed rat traps to 100 farmers in Barangays Maligcong and Tocucan on Dec. 5.
    Assistant municipal agriculturist Catherine Agcon said rat traps were given against pest and rat infestation which were earlier reported in said barangays.
    Meanwhile, 87 registered farmers in central barangays who have not received financial assistance from the Dept. of Agriculture were given 20 kilos each of fertilizer Dec. 8 at the Municipal Capitol.
    Following this, Bontoc Mayor Jerome “Chagsen” Tudlong, Jr., assured the municipal government’s full support to agriculture industry.
    He urged farmers to register in the Registry System for the Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA) and Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC) so they could receive aid from government.
