Cops nab 2 ‘rebs’, seize 3 firearms

SABLAN, Benguet – Police operatives arrested two suspected rebels and seized from them three high-powered firearms during an operation in Banengbeng, this town last week.

Senior Insp. Romeo Kimmayong, chief of the Sablan police station, identified the arrested men as Benjamin Blanco Cariaga, 55, alias "Ka Ben," and "Ka Juaning," married, native of Villanueva, Bautista, Pangasinan, and resident of Project 4, Quezon City; and Ronald Garcia Magtanong, 26, alias "Ka Vic," single, native of Baculin, Cadmang, Calangan, Zambales.

Sablan policemen confiscated from the two suspected members of the Revolutionaryong Hukbong Bayan two Cal.45 pistols and one 9 mm pistol, all without license. -- Dexter See
