Mt Prov execs elect officers
BONTOC, Mountain Province – The Association of Provincial Executives here recently elected its new set of officers for the next three years.
Inducted into office by Vice Gov. Louis F. Claver were provincial Agrarian officer Deogracias Almora as president; assistant provincial Budget officer Oliver Cullalad,, vice president; Parole and Probation officer Helen Monta, secretary; provincial treasurer Cawed Gamonnac, treasurer; Interior and Local Government provincial director Robert Mangangey, business manager; provincial auditor Hilario Dumasan, auditor and National Food Authority manager Celedonio Mendoza as PRO.
APEX officers shall serve for a period of three years without re-elections from the date of assumption of office or until the successor shall have been duly elected and qualified.
The association was organized in 1992 and had been active until 1998. It was reorganized in 2004 when lawyer Maximo Dalog regained the governorship.
The association is composed of regular members only which is composed of the provincial governor, vice governor, the chiefs and assistant chiefs of offices, national and local offices.
The APEX aims to provide leadership in the attainment of the goals of the provincial government and executive departments.
Outgoing president provincial administrator Paulo Pagteilan said one of the accomplishments of the APEX was conceptualization of the Lang-ay festival.
Pagteilan said it was also members of the APEX who planned for the activities of the past three Lang-ay festivals which were successfully celebrated.
The APEX also sponsored the Lang-ay fund raising like selling of raffle tickets and solicitation for the souvenir program which has generated funds for the province.
The proceeds of the 2005 and 2006 Lang-ay fund raising were used for the improvement of some facilities of the Bontoc General Hospital, the improvement of the Children’s park and the construction of the amenities at the Rizal Plaza, Pagteilan added. – Juliet Saley
