Former CAFGU killed in Ilocos

DINGRAS, Ilocos Norte — A former trooper of the Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit was shot to death night of April 7 during a wedding party in Barangay Francisco here, a belated police report stated.

The victim, identified as Marcus Sahagun, resident of Barangay Nagpatpatan, Solsona, Ilocos Norte, was shot and killed by a man armed with a Cal. 45 pistol, Dingras Police Chief Jeffrey Gorospe said.

The victim’s wife told investigators that Elmer Sahagun, her husband’s cousin, was probably the principal suspect in the killing.

Probers said the two had a previous fight in which Marcus reportedly smashed the face of Elmer with an empty bottle.

Probers said they will invite Elmer for questioning.The probers have yet to conclude their investigation
