Prisoner escapes jail, arrested in Lingayen

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – A detained prisoner accused of carnapping was rearrested by the police here three days after he bolted from the municipal jail of the Lingayen Police Station.
Supt. Harris Fama, chief of police here, identified the detained inmate as Ronnie Cabusora of Barangay Libsong East this town. Bausora was able to escape from the municipal jail last July 4 by forcibly opening the padlock with the used of an improvised key.
The escape of Cabusora was noticed missing when the duty jail guard delivered the breakfast of the detained prisoners.
Fama and the Provincial Intelligence headed by Supt. Romeo Caramat, formed a team of policemen to track down the escapee prisoner.
After several days of manhunt, the suspect was rearrested at the house of his grandfather where he sought refuge in Barangay Libsong this town.
Mayor Ernesto “Jonas” Castaneda also appreciated the immediate arrest of the escaped prisoner.
Cabusora was arrested May 19 after he drove away a motorcycle owned by Roy Palec.
Sr. Supt; Percival Barba, provincial director of Pangasinan provincial police commended the officers and men of Lingayen Police Station and Pangasinan Police Provincial Office trackers team for arresting Cabusora.
60-year-old Taiwanese stabbed dead
ROSALES, Pangasinan– A 60-year-old Taiwanese national was stabbed dead inside his nipa hut with the use of a baton sword by his co-worker in Barangay Carmen East, this town.
Killed was Chou Kuang Lien, married, agriculture consultant at the Harvest Agri-Business Corp. of said town and a resident of Imus, Cavite.
The suspect was identified by the police in a belated report reaching the provincial police headquarters as Ruel Palicpic, utility personnel of said corporation and a resident of Barangay Culang, Bolinao town this province.
Police investigation showedon July 10 around 11:30 p.m., prior to the incident, Palicpic with other co-workers had a drinking spree and afterwards the suspect took the baton sword from another co-worker and attacked the victim hitting him in the chest. – Jerry Padilla
