LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Poblacion barangay officials here seized 10 bricks of high grade, dried marijuana stalks while on late night foot patrol at West Buyagan on August 2.

The peculiarly shaped marijuana bricks weighed 10 kilos and valued at P1,250,000 which prompted anti-narcotic agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency to say these might have been made to order.

It was near midnight when the Benguet PDEA special enforcement team received a telephone call from Robert Namoro, barangay chairman of Poblacion about the recovery of marijuana bricks.

Namoro said they were conducting on patrol around 11:30 p.m. when they noticed a woman carrying a big and seemingly heavy sando plastic bag, which they presumed was filled with trash for disposal.

But when the woman saw the approaching authorities, she hurriedly disappeared, leaving behind the extra-large plastic bag along the road.

When the barangay officials went to check the package, they found a carton inside, which had 10 pieces of marijuana in bricks as confirmed by PDEA agents dispatched to the scene.

The seized dangerous drugs are now under the custody of the PDEA.
