Gov’t funds given to jeep accident victims, families

BESAO, Mountain Province – The provincial Department of Social Welfare and Development released P83,000 as financial assistance to victims of a vehicular accident here.

Social Welfare worker Minda Romero said 14 victims were given P3,000.00 each, another 14 received P2,500 each while one got P6,000.

Last June, a passenger jeepney carrying 34 passengers plunged into a deep ravine after the driver lost control of the vehicle along a slippery road at sitio Bunga, barangay Catengan here resulting to the death of 15 passengers.-- Juliet B. Saley
