BONTOC, Mountain Province -- The management of Rising Sun Transport Services here has systematized the flow of passengers especially during peak seasons.
Daphne Marcos, personnel of the firm’s office in this capital town said during peak seasons, travelers especially during Christmas and New Year, start and closing of classes and Holy Week jampack the terminal, push each other and scamper inside buses to get seats.
Some passengers also meet buses along the way and hang on while buses are running, she said.
To prevent accidents, passengers now must fall in line while the dispatcher issues seat numbers to passengers at the dispatching and receiving office.
As soon as the passengers are seated, the dispatcher collects the cards to ascertain that passengers are seated in the correct seat numbers assigned to them.
The buses embark every after one hour from 5:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. from Bontoc to Baguio City and vice versa.
