LAGAWE, Ifugao -- As students went back to school after the holiday season, Supt. Davy Limmong of the Ifugao provincial police office urged students to obey traffic rules for their safety.

He disclosed most traffic accidents that resulted to death of young drivers were due to motorcycles.

Most of the students use motorcycles in going to school, Limmong said.

He noted most of them do not have driver’s license as they are still minors.

‘We are appealing to their parents to help us caution their children not to drive a motorcycle, Limmong said.

Limmong also urged students to stop vices such as prohibited drugs, liquor, and gambling particularly “bingo.”

He noted the recent death of a student of the Ifugao State University due to drunkenness.

“I hope that this year, students and parents will be more responsible to protect our young ones from these vices,” Limmong said. -- Vency D. Bulayungan
