Five members of dreaded Basilan drug group nabbed

DAGUPAN CITY, Pangasinan – Five members of the dreaded Basilan Drug Group were arrested here dawn of March 27 by lawmen in four houses at Sitio Silungan, Barangay Bonuan Binloc.

Alleged leaders Salonga Naga Aka Allan and wife Bulawan Radja were subject to month’s long surveillance by Philippine Drug Enforcement Authority agents before their arrest.

Also nabbed in the same area were Glenn Gutlay, Jerry del Rosario, Rolly Luna, Hasnar Bocua and Connie Quinto were for illegal possession of firearms and drugs.

Five shabu sachets, numerous deposit slips listing huge amounts of money, a digital weighing scale, two cellular phones containing text drug transactions and a black shirt with PDEA insignia were confiscated in the area.

Three of the houses where alleged drug group members Malik Ampuan, Tebe Radja and Cairoden Linog reside were abandoned.

Still the team searched the houses in the presence of media personalities and barangay officials which yielded several shabu sachets, five pistols with ammunition, live M203 ammunition, a CCTV Camera, suspected drug money and several transaction lists.

The alleged drug personalities were earlier declared at large by the PDEA and were being hunted down by law enforcement units.

The raid also revealed an abandoned house suspected as a pot session area littered with hundreds of drug paraphernalia.

The house owner disappeared at the time of the assault.

Aside from the PDEA, those who participated in the raid included police and AFP intelligence units, said PDEA Region 1 Director Roberto S. Opena.
