TUGUEGARAO CITY — Dolphins recently saved a fisherman adrift in the Pacific Ocean for four days by guiding him to a beach in Camiguin Island.

The amazing rescue of Johnsley Bartolome, a resident from Barangay Casambalangan, Santa Ana, Cagayan, was reported to the police by his cousin, Arnel Ponce.

Ponce said that Johnsley and another cousin Regie Bartolome left Casambalangan in their boat April 14.

Their fishing boat was battered and finally sunk by giant waves.

Johnsley kept afloat by clinging to parts of the boat.

He drifted for four days without food.

Near Camiguin, he encountered a pod of dolphins. The mammals reportedly guided him to the island where he was spotted by residents last Monday.

Authorities have formed a team to look for Regie Bartolome.
