Mayor appeals for search of 14 missing fishermen

DASOL, Pangasinan — Mayor Noel Nacar of this town, who is also League of Municipalities of the Philippines Pangasinan Chapter president, appealed Tuesday to concerned national government agencies to help find 14 fishermen missing near Scarborough Shoal since last Sept. 22.

Nacar made the appeal in behalf of the families of the fishermen on board “F/B Hans Patrick,” one of six fishing boats that went on the fishing expedition and got caught up in the middle of a storm.

Earlier, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) vessel “Islander” returned empty handed after a search of the vicinity of Scarborough Shoal. -- LBI
