PNPA exams set Oct 28; applicants urged to file earlier

BAGUIO CITY – Interested and qualified Cordillerans are invited to take the Philippine National Police Academy Cadet (PNPA) admission test on Oct. 28, at testing centers here in Baguio and Lamut, Ifugao.
           
Other testing centers are the cities of Vigan, Dagupan, Tuguegarao, Cabanatuan, San Fernando, Pampanga;  Cauayan, Isabela; Calamba, Lucena, Odiongan, Romblon; Dasmarinas,  Legazpi; Naga, Iloilo, Bacolod and Kalibo, Aklan.
           
Others are Cebu City; Tacloban City; Catarman, Northern Samar; Zamboanga City; Pagadian City; Cagayan de Oro City; Davao City; General Santos City; Quezon City; Manila; Butuan City; Cotabato City; and Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.
           
PNPA Director Clarence Guintosaid those interested to pursue the course Bachelor of Science in Public Safety may submit applications forms on for before Sept. 24.

Applicants should be natural born Filipino citizens, male or female, of good moral character and without any derogatory record, 17 to 21 years old at time of admissions, single and with no parental obligation. He or she should at least be a high school graduate, physically and mentally fit for cadetship training,         

He or she should also be able to hurdle the minimum required physical fitness exercise, and as height requirements; 5’ 4” for males and 5’ 2” for females; except for indigenous people.
           
Tattoos and “other brotherhood marks,” and other congenital or physical defects, among others, may be grounds for medical disqualification.   
         
Successful applicants shall be government scholars and would serve the government either in the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) or Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), two years for every year of scholarship.
          
 The examination shall cover communication skills, logical and reasoning ability, math and sciences, general information and current events, and values and aptitude for the service.
          
The duly accomplished application should be submitted together with a self-stamped window envelope to the office of the registrar or mail to: The Director (Attn: Registrar), Philippine National Police Academy, Camp General Mariano Castaneda, 4129 Silang, Cavite.
