5 nabbed for illegal gambling in Benguet

CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet– Operatives of the La Trinidad municipal police station arrested five individuals after they were caught playing illegal card games inside the Bahingawan Building at km 5 Barangay Pico here around 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Chief Supt. Benjamin B. Magalong, Cordillera police director, identified the arrested individuals as Alyson Tamlaen Gaiwen,  22 of Leseb, Bauko, Mountain Province and resident of #99 Holy Ghost, Baguio City; Bello Kiblasen Bugart, 29  of Maba-ay, Bauko, Mountain Province and resident of JA-23, Pico, this municipality; Reynaldo Lensing Cosili, 21 also of Maba-ay and resident of Apugan, Irisan, Baguio City; Johndy Bangcoden Badecao, 20 of Leseb, Bauko, Mountain Province and  resident of Atab, Marcos Highway, Baguio City and Ferdinand Liwayan Estrada, 20 of Tapapan, Bauko, Mountain Province and a resident of Betag, La Trinidad, Benguet.

Policemen led by Chief Insp. Richard Albon confiscated from the suspects playing cards, and cash bets of P700.

A case for violation of Presidential Decree 1602 is now being prepared against the suspects who are presently detained at the local police station awaiting the disposition of the provincial prosecutor’s office on the case filed against them.
