P109 CHARMP2 projects set in Kalinga

TABUK CITY, Kalinga, -- The Second Cordillera
Highland Agriculture Resources Management Program (CHARMP2) has
completed two projects and is currently implementing
nine infrastructure projects in the different areas in the province.
Mir Hazen Sallaya,
provincial rural infrastructure engineer of CHARMP2, said completed are
the concreting of the Tuwer-Panadfoothpath in Balatoc in Pasil
municipality costing P494,714.28 and construction of the Ipil slab
footbridge at Ab-abaan in Balbalan worth P151,158.51.
Sallay also disclosed
that there are nine on-going projects while 34 are set to be
implemented with a total funding of P109 million.
He said P81.8M came
from CHARMP2, P12.3M from the Department of Agriculture, and P15M counterpart
from host-local government units.
On-going he said are
the improvement of the Dalnacan-Taloctoc-Anggacan far-to-market road (FMR)
costing P20 million; rehabilitation of Tanglag FMR in Lubuagan – P4 million;
concreting of Lubak-Botol footbridge in Ab-abaan, Balbalan – P1M; rehab of
Botol communal irrigation system (CIS) Ab-abaan, Balbalan – P1.6M; construction
of Banglag CIS in Buaya, Balbalan – P735,764.46; rehab of Balong CIS in Poswoy,
Balbalan – P1.6M; rehab of Belalao CIS in Mabilong, Lubuagan – P2.8M; rehab of
Duyaas-Bagitan-Kela footpath in Upper Uma, Lubuagan – P2.8M; and construction
of Sulbukan water system in Colayo, Pasil – P815,933.02.
Sallaya said 34 others
are due for implementation after completion of their technical detailed
engineering. These include the P10M rehab of Butbut-Sungang FMR in
Tinglayan; P5.5M rehab of Amdalao-Guinaang FMR in Pasil; P4.4M rehab of
Belong-Manubal FMR; the P4.2M rehab of Tulgao East FMR in Tinglayan; another
P3.7M for the Taloctoc-Anggacan FMR in Tanudan; P3.5M each for the rehab of
Mamag-an-Bangtitan-Bacao foothpath in Upper Uma, and construction of Manangol
footbridge, both in Lubuagan.
Rural infrastructure
development is one of the components of the CHAMP 2 whose goal is poverty
reduction and livelihood improvement in poor rural communities in the upland
areas of the Cordillera Region. – Peter
