Instant Benguet vegetable noodles gaining popularity

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet -- With its nutritional value and minimal cost, the instant veggie noodles are gaining popularity among consumers especially among mothers.

According to Violeta Salda, project  officer of the Benguet Vegetable Processing Center, they have many orders from commercial establishments as customers look for healthy noodles.

“Aside from the big groceries in the malls, we also supply other outlets like La Top, where they sell organic produce only; Mountain Grown in Porta Vaga and  the  Benguet State University cooperative store,” Salda said.

BVPC also has a memorandum of agreement with the Department of Social Welfare and Development in using vegetable-enriched noodles in relief packs.

The instant noodles are standard part of the relief packs distributed by the agency during disaster operations.
Benguet Veggie Noodles are delicious and colorfully packaged to attract children's curiosity.

The noodles are made from vegetables like carrots, potatoes, squash, camote and pechay which are rich in vitamins and minerals.

 Children do not even know that the main ingredients are made of vegetable.

It is nutritious and affordable at a reasonable price that poor families can manage to buy, Salda said.


Aside from veggies canton noodles, other BVPC products are dried miki, veggies instant noodles, instant noodles-no cook, veggie coolies, veggie pasta, veggie fresh miki, veggie pandesal bread, and squash bread buns.
