‘Pinili councilor committed suicide’

PINILI, Ilocos Norte – The body of a village councilor, who allegedly committed suicide, was found in the mountainous area here in Barangay Tartarabang last Monday.

Senior Insp .Artemio Clemente, town chief of police, identified the victim as Wilfredo Fagaragan, 51, an incumbent councilor in Barangay Tartarabang, Pinili town.

It was reported a piece of rubber was tied around his neck. His body was found by his son-in- law. Clemente said the victim’s relatives claimed there was no foul play involved, and that they believed Fagaragan committed suicide as he was suffering depression due to his severe stomach illness. -- Freddie G.
