HAPPY WEEKEND
By Gina Dizon

And so President Benigno Aquino claimed responsibility for the death
of the Fallen 44 being the President and the chief of the Armed Forces
of the Philippines.  Resigned Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief
Allan Purisima too admitted his accountability in the failed operation.  Also, sacked Special Action Force (SAF)-PNP chief Getulio
Napenas claimed responsibility for the failed operation Exodus to
arrest international bomb expert Malaysian Zulkifli Bin Hir alias
Marwan and Usman Basit which led to the gruesome death of 44 SAF and
11 injured.

A major accountability is the responsibility for reinforcement that
never came from 6 o’clock in the morning of January 25 to 11 o’clock
pm in the same day since the SAF soldiers informed higher ups of the
needed reinforcement due fighting rebels from the Moro Islamic
Liberation Front (MILF) and Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF)
on war against the deployed 78 SAF from the 84rth Seaborne Battalion
and 55th SAF Battalion at Tukanilapao, Mamasapano, Maguindanao.

That was 16 hours long hours dangled waiting and agony if support will
ever come or not for the SAF who entered the village of Mamasapano to
arrest Marwan. Sixteen long hours that must had been spent for talking
among high authorities who knew of the operation of whether to let
support get in or not and what time.  By the time reinforcement came
at 11 pm of the same day, 44 SAF died some their heads severed or shot
at close range and 11 injured. This to include civilians killed and
reported hundreds of MILF-BIFF killed in the fight. Twenty three SAF
survived the bloody fight in the cornfields of Mamasapano.

Alongside expected  cases to be filed against those responsible for
the  failed operation, investigation followed with  the  PNP Board of
Inquiry, the Commission on Human Rights, the Senate  and the US’
Federal Bureau of Investigation doing  their  respective  probes  on
the  bloody incident.

So Marwan was killed and Usman escaped.

The question now is where the reward money is.  And who will get it.

A 56 year old political consultant named Marcus Allen Frishman,  a US
citizen from California is claiming the reward  under the US State
Department’s Rewards for Justice ( RJF) program claiming that he has
provided information for the arrest of Marwan showing emailed letters
with the  US State Department authorities and a certification allowing
Marwn  safe  conduct pass  to  move around in Maguindanao signed by a
certain  commander Boy Hashim, chairman of the  Military Advisory
Council   MILF Central Committee.

News accounts say Frishman was able to get hold of the certification
during his visit in the Philippines in 2010 and the rest is history
with the US having conducted their own monitoring on the whereabouts
of Marwan and the eventual supposed arrest and killing of Marwan by
SAF-PNP. Frishman believes the certification has lot to do with
tracing the whereabouts of Marwan.

He said if he will get the money, he will share it to the families of
the fallen 44.
A petition on line meantime is being circulated that the $5million
reward money be given to the Fallen 44 and to the 11 injured.

And not only to the slain and the injured but also to the 23 SAF
survivors.  They are the 78 SAF - 36 cops composing the 84rth Seaborne
Battalion and 36 composing the 55th SAF Battalion- who entered the
villages of Mamasapano to get Marwan.

If the American's claim is valid where chances are it will be valid,
the money goes to Frishman reward money being a policy of the US State
Department that informant/s are entitled to the bounty.

If that is so,it would be American money given to an American over the
capture of an international terrorist who is one among the top listed
terrorists the US is hunting in their mission to wipe out terrorists
in the world.

Unless there are other informants.

The Philippines bleeds and an American informant shall get the money.
If he will. The Philippines and the Fallen 44 gets the glory and
someone else gets the money.

The Fallen 44 are part of the mission arrest turned killing of Marwan.
And so with the 11 injured and the 23 SAF survivors. And so with the
312 SAF who milled around the streets of Mamasapano while the 78 SAF
battled it out with hundreds and hundreds of MILF and BIFF armed men.
And so with Aquino, Purisima and Napenas claiming responsibility for
the botched   operation.  And so with civilians killed in the
operation. And so with investigations and appropriate charges to be
filed against the ones responsible including MILF and BIFF soldiers
who killed the SAF men.And so with the families and the people of this
country grieving for an operation that could have saved lives if
reinforcement was given at an earlier responsive time.

And so authorities in government say the operation is worth it with
Marwan dead not to further his operations making bombs and teaching
people how to make bombs and these bombs killing people.  The
Philippines is part of the history of silencing terrorists.

While this is so, the reward money was dangled for any informant to
provide information to the whereabouts of a terrorist shall get the
reward-5 million US dollars. Money dangled to anyone who can provide
lead to the arrest of an international terrorist  who happened to be
in Philippine soil coddled by the MILF  a rebel  armed group now
friend of the Philippine government  with  role to facilitate the
Bangsamoro Basic Law which shall make peace with Mindanao.

MILF now exposed to the world of coddling terrorist while making peace
get another question of money apart from trust sleeping with an enemy.
Billions of money as part of the deal shall be given as support fund
to the Bangsamoro autonomous government  if this shall be realized. If
 ever.
